Rover Acquires DogVacay

Seattle-based Rover, the pet sitting marketplace led by Aaron Easterly, said Wednesday morning that it is merging with DogVacay, a competing online dog sitting marketplace. Rover is acquiring DogVacay in an all-stock deal. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Both Rover and DogVacay provide an online marketplace which allows pet owners to find dog- and cat-sitters. The newly merged company will be led by Easterly, with DogVacay's founder, Aaron Hirschhorn, joining Rover's board.
