AxonVR Raises $5.8M For Virtual Reality Technology

Seattle-based AxonVR, a developer of virtual reality "haptic" touch technology, said today that it has raised $5.8M in a seed funding round. AxonVR said the round was led by Chinese company NetEase, and also included Dawn Patrol Ventures and former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, along with The Virtual Reality Company, Jon Snoddy (Walt Disney Imagineering), Keeler Investment Group, and Paul Matthaeus (Digital Kitchen). The company's founders are CEO Jake Rubin and Lead Engineer Dr. Robert Crockett. The company said it is developing technology to enable realistic touch for the virtual and augmented reality market.
