Amazon Backs ecobee For Smart Thermostats

Amazon has made its biggest investment so far out of the Amazon Alexa Fund, to smart thermostat maker ecobee, the two said late Thursday afternoon. ecobee, which is based in Toronto, said it raised $35M in a funding, which came from the Amazon Alexa Fund, Thomvest and Relay Ventures. ecobee's smart, Wi-Fi connected thermostats are heavily integrated with Amazon Echo, and was the first thermostat to use mazon's Alexa Smart Hoe Skill API. ecobee was founded in 2007.
