Glowforge Blows Through Preorder Goal, Gets $1.4M In Orders
Seattle-based Glowforge, the developer of a 3D laser-driven printer which is able to cut a wide range of materials into 3D objects, has now received over $1.4 million in pre-orders for its device--blowing past the $100,000 goal for the device. The startup--which only just opened the device for preordering on Thursday--is offering a 50% discount on the device, which starts at $1,995 with a preorder. The company says its yet-to-be-delivered device cuts wood, paper, leather, cardboard, fabric, acrylic, and more into complex, engraved shapes.
