Cray Wins $6M Contract With Denmark Weather Agency
Seattle-based Cray said Tuesday that it has won a $6M contract in Denmark, with the Danish Meteorological Institute. Cray said that the institute is acquiring a Cray XC supercomputer and matching Cray Sonexion 2000 storage systems, to help with its weather forecasting efforts. Cray said the new system actually will be installed in Reykjavik, Iceland, which offers better power and cooling efficiency, at the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO).
