Remitly Expands In India, Its First Expansion Beyond The Philippines

Seattle-based online overseas remittance app Remitly said Wednesday that it has expanded into the country of India, and now allows U.S. residents send money to the Asian country. The addition of India is the second market that Remitly has entered; the company started its service in the Phillipines. Remitly said its iOs and Android apps can now send money to 120 bands and their branches in India. Remitly is venture backed by Trilogy Partnership, QED Investors, Founders’ Co-Op, Bezos Expeditions, and TomorrowVentures.
