Cray Wins $30M Contract
Seattle-based Cray reported another win over at the Department of Defense, saying that it has been awarded a $30M supercomputer contract for two of its CX40 supercomputers and two Cray Sonexion storage systems. Cray said the new systems will be installed at the U.S. Navy DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (Navy DSRC) at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The company said the computers will go towards producing high-resolution, coastal-ocean circulation and wave-model oceanography products.
