Getty Images Sues Microsoft Over Photo Embedding

Getty Images is taking on fellow Seattle area technology giant Microsoft Corp. in court, with a new lawsuit claiming that Microsoft's new Bing image embedding tool is a massive infringement on copyrights. Bing released the tool last month, letting users embed any image from the search engine in a gallery or slideshow, based on any keyword. Getty Images claims that the tool erodes copyright protection for online images, including its own collection of photos.
