Getty Images, Flickr Expand User-Generated Photo Effort
Seattle-based Getty Images is ramping up their efforts to find photography and photos from Yahoo's photo sharing site, Flickr, the two firms said this week. According to the two, they are now allowing Flickr's members to submit their own photos for consideration in the Flickr Collection on Getty Images, the effort by the two to sell photos to Getty's customers sourced from Flickr. The firms said that Flickr members can now submit up to 10 images to the Getty Images Call for Artists group on the photo site, which will be regularly reviewed by the creative team at Getty Images. Getty Images licenses those images via its stock photography site to graphic designers, advertisers, and others. The two have been in a joint effort since March on sourcing photos from Flickr.
