Getty Images Launches Free Image Embedding

In a move to stem the unauthorized use of its images, yet encourage awareness of its paid offerings, Seattle-based Getty Images has made it easier to use its images--for free--through a new "Embed" tool. The tool lets users use millions of its images by simply including an HTML code snippet in their web pages and social media posts. Getty Images said Wednesday it is now offering up nearly 35 million photographs for free for users, through an "embed" code on its photo collection. The company said the images--like the one below--are restricted to non-commercial use.
