Cray Wins $30M Contract
Seattle-based Cray said today that it has won a $30M contract in Germany, to expand its installation at the University of Stuttgart. Cray said the University is expanding its Cray XC30 supercomputer -- named the "hornet" -- at the University's High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). Cray said the supercomputer is being used by researchers, scientists, and engineers throughout Europe, and the expansion will boost the supercomputer's performance to more than seven petaflops with 2.3 petabytes of storage.
