Amazon Web Services Aims At Startups With New Program

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services is reaching out to startups--already a big user of its cloud-based services--with a new program it is calling AWS Activate. According to Amazon, the new program includes AWS credits, training, developer support, a special startup community forum and special offers from third parties. The new program specifically is aimed at bundling together the common resources used by startups trying to take advantage of Amazon's web services platform. Amazon explained that it would offer up two version of the new program: "Self-Starter" for any startup, and a "Portfolio package" for companies who are part of accelerators, incubators, venture capital seed funds, or other organizations.
