Amazon Web Services Gets Green Light On Government Hosting
Amazon Web Services has just been given the green to run "highly sensitive" government workloads on its secure, cloud hosting service, AWS GovCloud, according to Amazon.com. Amazon said that it has received Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) from the Joint Authorization Board (JAB) under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) program. The program covers cybersecurity and other requirements for cloud services. Amazon said the certification gives it the ability to store and process such sensitive information as patient records, financial data, law enforcement data, and other unclassified information.
