Demand Media Names Domain Technology Head

Demand Media said today that it has named a new head of technology in Kirkland, to head up United TLD, the company's registry and top level domain subsidiary. According to Demand, it has hired Wayne MacLaurin as Senior Vice President of Technology. MacLaurin was previously CTO at Sedari, and also served at Mmentous Group of Companies, NameScout.com, and Pool.com. United TLD is developing infrastructure to handle registration of the new generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) which are expected to appear later this year. Demand Media said MacLaurin will manage the technology roadmap and day-to-day operation of its registry systems.
