Amazon Adds HTML5 Apps To Appstore

Seattle-based Amazon.com is adding HTML5 applications to its Appstore, the company said Wednesday, offering up access to Kindle Fire and Android customers to developer of HTML5 web apps and mobile websites. Amazon said the move would give those developers access to customers, in the same way those consumers currently access native applications. Amazon said the move would remove the need to use third party software to convert mobile web content into a native app. The move is also tied to Amazon's In-App purchasing API.
