Amazon Launches New App Developer Program

Seattle-based Amazon.com is ramping up its outreach to application developers, saying today that it has launched a new program for developers called Appstore Developer Select. Amazon said the new program will help app developers earn premium placement for their apps, ad impressions, AWS credits, and ability to use Amazon Coins for in-app purchases. Amazon said that developers can join the program by optimizing their apps for Amazon Appstore and Fire OS, by using APIs from Amazon such as GameCircle, in-app purchasing tools, and mobile ad APIs.
