Amazon Launches Android App Store

Seattle-based Amazon.com announced this morning that it has launched its Amazon Appstore for Android, its online store for Android apps. Amazon said it would allow users to buy Android applications both using a web browser, or from their Android phone or tablet using an Amazon application. As part of the launch, Amazon said it is offering up a free copy of Angry Birds Rio for Android for a limited time to customers. Amazon said it will be offering a paid app for free every day as part of the launch.
