Amazon Appstore Turns One, Tops 31,000 Apps
Seattle-based Amazon.com's Android Appstore has just turned one, the company said today, and now has over 31,000 applications available. Amazon's alternative to Google's app market was launched a year ago, allowing users to download and buy applications using their Amazon account, growing from 4,000 apps at launch to now over 31,000 applications available via the site. Amazon did not give any usage stats on the app store, but did say that the most popular paid app in its store is the app Cut the Rope, followed by the ad free version of Angry Birds, and then game Where's My Water. The most popular free apps are Angry Birds Free, Netflix, and Solitaire by MobilityWare.
