Cray Gets $39M Contract
Seattle-based Cray said Monday that it has been awarded a $39M contract, from the North-German Supercomputing Alliance (HLRN), for one of its distributed Cray XC30 supercomputing systems. Cray said the system will be installed at the Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) and the High Performance Computing Center (RRZN) at Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany. Cray said the supercomputers will be used to support scientific research in the areas of environmental research, climate and ocean modeling, physics, chemistry, bio-informatics, engineering, and fluid dynamics.
