INRIX Powers Expanded Traffic Data Effort

Kirkland-based INRIX said Thursday that it is providing its traffic information as part of a major government program to provide better traffic data across six states and the District of Columbia, along the I-95 corridor. INRIX said it is in a three year expansion of its involvement with the effort, headed by the I-95 Corridor Coalition and the University of Maryland (UMD). That effort will use INRIX to provide traffic information on over 40,000 miles of roads across 14 states. INRIX did not say how much the expansion of the program means to the company. The effort includes real-time traffic information for freeways in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut; traffic on freeways and arterials in Maryland, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia, along with North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia; and other data services to a number of government agencies.
