IDT To Sell Hillsboro Fab
Integrated Device Technology, a Silicon Valley-based developer of mixed signal semiconductors, reported today that it is planning to sell its Hillsboro, Oregon wafer fabrication facility to Alpha and Omega Semiconductor. IDT said the deal is worth $26M, and gives Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited rights to acquire the wafer fabrication facility and related assets. IDT is looking to become a fabless maker of semiconductors. IDT said it would close production at the facility by the end of January 31, 2012. IDT is moving its fabrication to third party fab provider TSMC. IDT did not say how the move will affect local employees at its fab.
