IDT Shuts Hillsboro Fab
San Jose, California-based Integrated Device Technology, a developer of a wide range of semiconductors for the computer and consumer electronics market, said Thursday that the firm will be shutting down production in the firm's Hillsboro, Oregon fabs, and transferring those activities to chip giant TSMC. IDT said the transition will happen over the next two years, and that it will attempt to sell the firm's facility and equipment to another firm. IDT did not say how many employees would be affected by the move. The company said that, as part of the transition, it has hired a third party to market its Hillsboro facility to potential buyers.
