Cray Inks Deal with Sandia National Labs
Seattle-based supercomputer maker Cray and Sandia Natoinal Laboratories announced this morning that the two are establishing a new, supercomputing institute focused on knowledge discovery, data management, and informatics computing. The new institute, the Supercomputing Institute for Learning and Knowledge Systems (SILKS), will be based in Albuquerque at Sandia National Laboratories. The two said the collaboration will focus on the use of high performance computing (HPC) for scientific discovery, knowledge discovery, United States competitiveness and national security.
