Microsoft, thePlatform Tie On Online Video

Redmond-based Microsoft, and Seattle-based thePlatform said today that the two have tied together their technologies. According to the two companies, they have integrated Microsoft PlayReady and Internet Information Services into thePlatform's mpx video management system. The new integration provides video optimization and streaming based on the bandwidth of the network and devices. The two said that the technology integration's first customer is Comcast Interactive Media, which will use it in its comcast Xfinity TV service. thePlatform provides white label, video management services, and is a subsidiary of Comcast.
