Clearwire Launches International Roaming In Japan

Kirkland-based Clearwire, the developer of the CLEAR broadband wireless service, said today that it has launched a new, 4G roaming service internationally in Japan. Clearwire said it has inked a deal wwith UQ Communications, in Japan, which will provide day passes with UQ, throughout markets in Japan and the United States. Financial details of the deal between the firms were not announced. Clearwire said the move is part of a greater effort to add additional international roaming options for its customers. UQ provides WiMax service in 15 of Japan's largest cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.
