Clearwire Gets Surprise Bid From DISH Network

In a surprise bid, Sprint has received some competition for Bellevue-based Clearwire, from satellite television operator DISH Network. Clearwire said Tuesday afternoon that DISH has proposed to purchase certain spectrum assets from Clearwire, acquiring all of Clearwire's common stock for $3.30 per share. The new bid values Clearwire at roughly $4.9 billion.
