Cray Wins $20M Contract In Brazil
Seattle-based supercomputer maker Cray said yesterday that it has won a $20M contract in Brazil, with the Foundation for Space Technology, Applications and Science (FUNCATE). Cray said that it will supply a Cray XT6 supercomputer to the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) for weather and climate studies. Brazil's INPE is responsible for Brazil's satellites, scientific studies in space science, weather forecasting, and climate change studies.
