Swype Picks Up $5.6M
Seattle-based Swype, which is developing text input technology for smart phones and other mobile devices, announced today that it has raised $5.6M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Nokia Growth Partners, Samsung Venturse, and Benaroya Capital. According to Swype, the new funding will go to further its partnerships to integrate its technology into more mobile handsets. Swype develops technology which makes it faster to input text on touchscreens, and is so far deployed on the Suamsung Omnia II.
