Swype Acquired By Nuance For $102.5M
Seattle-based Swype, the developer of touch-sensitive, keyboard input software, has been acquired by Nuance, in a deal worth $102.5M. According to a regulatory filing from Nuance Communications, it agreed to acquire Swype on Thursday, and will pay $77.5M on closing and the remaining $25.0M in earn out eighteen months after the close. The filing says that the deal is contingent on certain key executives not terminating their employment with Nuance. Swype was venture backed by Benaroya Company, Ignition Partners, Nokia Venture Partners, and Samsung
