Swype Acquired By Nuance For $102.5M

Seattle-based Swype, the developer of touch-sensitive, keyboard input software, has been acquired by Nuance, in a deal worth $102.5M. According to a regulatory filing from Nuance Communications, it agreed to acquire Swype on Thursday, and will pay $77.5M on closing and the remaining $25.0M in earn out eighteen months after the close. The filing says that the deal is contingent on certain key executives not terminating their employment with Nuance.
