Seattle Startups Boot Up Internship Program
A group of local startups, coupled with investment firm Madrona Ventures, said today they have launched a new paid summer internship program which hopes to connect computer science students with local startup companies. According to the Cascadia Innovation Fellowship, it will pay $5,000 summer internships to students to work at Apptio, Cheezburger Network, Extrahop, Impinj, Lockerz, Redfin, Swype, WildTangent, and Zillow. The program--which has a deadline of March 10th for applications from students--is open to any undergraduate or graduate student in the U.S. or Canada, with a computer science, engineering, or mathematics background. The group said it will be flying candidates into Seattle for interviews with companies at the end of March.
