INRIX Expands Traffic Coverage

Kirkland-based INRIX reported Thursday afternoon that the firm has tripled the coverage the firm provides for real-time traffic. The firm--which provides traffic data and information to electronic devices and information services--said it now covers over 160,000 miles across North America. The firm also said it has added coverage in Canada in Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa. INRIX uses traffic speed data derived from GPS devices in trucks and other fleet vehicles such as taxis and airport shuttle services. The firm's traffic data shows up on services from Microsoft, TeleNAV, TomTom, MapQuest, Ford, and others.
