MOD Systems Gains $35M For Media Kiosks
MOD Systems, a manufacturer of digital media delivery systems for retailers, announced Thursday that it has obtained a $35 million equity investment. The Seattle-based startup included Toshiba Corp. and NCR Corp. among the most recent round of investors. Both firms now possess minority stakes in MOD Systems, the company said. MOD Systems develops kiosks which are installed at retailers, which allow consumers to download digital content to memory cards and portable devices. NCR will maintain and and deploy the self-service devices, and Toshiba will provide high capacity memory cards and set-top boxes as part of the effort.
