MOD Systems In MP3 Distribution Deal
Seattle-based MOD Systems, a developer of retail kiosks for selling digital music and other media at retail stores, said Monday that the firm has inked a new agreement with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI Music, along with a number of independent music aggregators, to sell DRM-free MP3 tracks and albums in retail stores. According to MOD Systems, the new agreement extends its catalog to 5.2 million music tracks. MOD Systems sells its digital media at retailers, by loading secure digital memory cards and USB storage systems through its retail kiosks. Financial details on the agreements were not disclosed.
