Itron Joins ZigBee Board

The ZigBee Alliance, an international group of companies that develop wireless products, announced Wednesday that it has added Itron Inc. to its board of directors. ZigBee said Itron, which joins the board as a Promoter level member, is a leading provider of solid-state electricity meters and advanced metering technologies. Cellnet, Eaton Corp., Ember Corp., Freescale Semiconductor Inc., Honeywell, Huawei Technologies, Mitsubishi Electric, Motorola, Philips, Samsung, Schneider Electric, Siemens, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Tendril Networks comprise the balance of ZigBee's board of directors, ZigBee said. Itron Inc. is headquartered in Liberty Lake, Wash.
