Kymeta Creates Advisory Board
Redmond-based Kymeta, the advanced materials company which is applying its technology to the satellite communications market, said today that it has create a new advisory board of aerospace industry experts. The company--a spinout of Intellectual Ventures--said it has added T. Allan McArtor (Chairman of Airbus Americas), Tuvia Barak (former head of Tadiran), David R. Smith, Ph.D. (Professor at Duke University), Neil Mackay, Ph.D. (former President and CEO of EMS Technologies), and Susan Irwin (President of Euroconsult US), all as advisors to the company. Kymeta is developing advanced materials which dramatically shrink the size and profile of antennas used for satellite communications. The company's antennas can have much lower profiles and better performance than existing technology. Kymeta is also backed by Bill Gates.
