Webtrends Buys Social Marketing Firm
Portland-based Webtrends, a provider of web analytics software, said today that it has acquired Transpond, a developer of social marketing applications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Webtrends, it is now immediately offering Webtrends Apps for Facebook, web and mobile, based on the technology acquired from Transpond. Webtrends said the new tools will allow its clients to create and measure content across the web, social networking sites, and for mobile devices. Transpond was a developer of a platform designed for non-programmers to publish content to social networking sites and mobile platforms; the firm's clients included CBS, Revision3, TV.com, Lifetime Television, Universal Music Group, NBC Universal, Scion, Visa and others.
