AmazonSmile Earns Charities $100M

AmazonSmile, the charity donation program of Amazon which donates a portion of all purchases on its site to charities--if consumers remember to navigate to the site before buying a product--says it has donated more than $100M so far through the program. According to Amazon, as part of a "thank you" to customers, starting today through Friday, November 2nd, it will donate 5 percent, which is ten times the typical donation rate to eligible products purchased through its charity site. Amazon launched AmazonSmile in October of 2013.
