Amazon Launches Charity Effort, AmazonSmile
Seattle-based Amazon.com said today that it has launched a new, charity effort which automatically gives 0.5 percent of the purchase price of products from the site, to a user's favorite charitable organizations. According to Amazon, its new AmazonSmile service lets users pick one of nearly one million organizations to give a percentage of their purchase to, with no cap on how much the company will donate. The company said the donations will come from the AmazonSmile Foundation.
