Boeing Backs BridgeSat In $10M Funding

Boeing has made an investment in Denver-based BridgeSat, a startup which is developing a network of satellite ground communications stations, the company said this week. BridgeSat says its ground stations are intended to communicate using optical communications with low-earth-orbit (LEO) and geostationary satellites, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and high altitude aircraft. Boeing, via Boeing HorizonX Ventures, was the lead investor int he $10M, Series B fudning, which also included Allied Minds. BridgeSat was founded in 2015. According to Boeing, the investment also comes alongside an effort to connect Boeing experts, testing labs and other valuable resources to accelerate BridgeSat's deployment efforts.
