Boeing Backs Radar Developer Fortem Technologies In $15M Funding Round

Boeing has put its backing behind Fortem Technologies, a startup developing small, compact radar systems designed to detect airborne objects, as part of a $15M Series A funding for Fortem. Fortem announced on Thursday it has raised $15M in a round led by DCVC (Data Collective), and also included Boeing, Mubadala Investment Company, Manifest Growth, New Ground Ventures and Signia Venture Partners. Fortem is working on a compact, 1.5 pound radar system for detecting airborne objects, and says its systems are small enough to be deployed on aircraft--including UAVs, air taxis and helicopters.
