Microsoft Azure Goes Down In South Central US Region

Microsoft Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing service, is suffering a massive outage in its South Central US region, as a result of a overheating of critical equipment, according to Microsoft. The outage--which began at 9:29 UTC on Tuesday--took down thousands of websites and services across the Internet. According to Microsoft, the outages was due to a "localized speed in temperature". The outage may possibly be related to power outages linked to record rainfall in a storm in San Antonio on Labor Day, where San Antonio saw a record 6.07 inches of rainfall, besting a 1889 record of 1.76 inches for the day. Some parts of San Antonio reported more than 10 inches of rainfall for the storm. Microsoft had not confirmed if those issues were weather related.
