Score One For Microsoft: No Heartbleed Vulnerability
Score a big one for Microsoft: the company's Azure cloud, and its software in general, has not been affected by "Heartbleed", the major Internet security vulnerability which was found in the open source, OpenSSL software this week, which has made millions of websites vulnerable to hacking and takeover. Microsoft confirmed last night that Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Account and Microsoft Azure, along with most Microsoft Services are not affected by the bug, due to Microsoft's own implementation of the SSL/TLS protocol. By dodging the issue, Microsoft's argument to customers that its software is more secure than Linux, gains a major proof point.
