Microsoft Acquires Cycle Computing
Bellevue-based Microsoft announced this morning that it has acquired Cycle Computing, a developer of cloud computing software used for high performance computing (HPC). Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Microsoft said the buy will help its customers accelerate their move to the cloud, and specifically, Microsoft Azure. Cycle Computing says it was bootstrapped, without VC funding, twelve years ago, using $8,000 off the founder's credit cards.
