Vantage Data Centers, With Facility In Quincy, Acquired
Vantage Data Centers, a data center operator which has a small, 6MW data center in Quincy, Washington--but more extensive holdings in Silicon Valley--has been acquired by a consortium of investors. Vantage Data CEners said it has been acquired by Digital Bridge Holdings, Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), and TIAA Investments. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Vantage Data Centers says it has plans to add four additional data centers on its existing Quincy, Washington data center campus; the company also has 51 Megawatts across four data centers in operation in Silicon Valley, with more planned. The company did not say how the acquisition will specifically help or hurt its expansion plans in Quincy, although it says it plans to use the new capital for continued expansion in existing and new markets. Vantage's data centers sit among former farm fields next to similar data centers run by Microsoft, Dell, Yahoo, Intuit, and Sabey Data Centers.
