Yahoo Expanding Data Center In Quincy
Silicon Valley-based Yahoo says it is expanding its data center in Quincy, Washington, by approximately 300,000 square feet. Yahoo said the expansion will include the addition of "thousands" of new servers in the location. Yahoo has been running the data center since 2007. Quincy is an extremely popular location for Silicon Valley companies to locate their data centers, with such heavyweights as Intuit, Microsoft, Dell, in addition to Yahoo and many others, who are attracted by the location's low energy and real estate prices for their power-and-space-hunngry data centers.
