Fortune Data Centers Sets Up In Portland
Fortune Data Centers, an operator of wholesale data center space based in Silicon Valley, said today that it has expanded into Oregon, and has opened up a new facility near Portland. Citing Oregon's lack of a sales tax and Enterprise Zones, as well as its energy and communications infrastructure, the firm said it has purchased a 15-acre site with 240,000 square feet of industrial building in Hillsboro. The firm said it expects its facility to be completed by the second quarter of 2012. Fortune Data Centers said its project will give its tenants the same cost benefits as companies such as Facebook, Google, and Amazon, which have been tapping Oregon as a location for their data centers.
