Tierpoint Acquired By Private Equity Firms
Liberty Lake, Washington-based colocation and data center provider TierPoint has been acquired by a company run by a coalition private equity firms, via Cequel Data Centers LLC. According to Cequel Data Centers, which is backed by Thompson Street Capital Partners, Charterhouse Group, and Cequel III, it has acquired TierPoint as part of an effort to grow its collection of data center assets. Cequel said it now owns facilities in Spokane, Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa, Okla, totaling more than 100,000 square feet. TierPoint operates three data center in the Spokane area, totaling nearly 30,000 square feet of raised data center space. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The firms said that RBC Capital Markets advised the sellers of TierPoint, and that Goldman Sachs, CapitalSource Bank, US Bank, ING, and CoBank provided a credit facility to Cequel Data Centers to complete the deal.
