Amazon Plans Solar Energy For Fulfillment Centers

Seattle-based Amazon.com said on Thursday that it is launching a new initiative, where it will be installing solar power systems on 15 of its fulfillment centers, with plans to have solar power on 50 of its fulfillment and "sortation" centers by 2020. Amazon said the first, 15 solar installs will generate up to 41 MW of power, and will be located at Amazon facilities in California, New Jersey, Maryland, Nevada and Delaware.
