Amazon Expands In Kent
Seattle-based Amazon.com said Friday that it plans to open up its fourth, fulfillment center in Washington, this time in Kent. Amazon said the new, 1 million-square-foot fulfillment center will create "hundreds" of full time jobs. Amazon already has centers in Sumner, Bellevue, and DuPont. The new facility--like the company's many other fulfillment centers--employs people to pack books, electronics, and consumer goods, into boxes and ship them to customers. Amazon said it is partnering in a joint venture with IDS Real Estate Group and Clarion Partners to build the new site.
