Amazon Opens Two New Fulfillment Centers
Seattle-based Amazon.com continues to build out its network of fulfillment centers, saying today that it has added a new center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and another Plainfield, Indiana. Amazon said that the Plainfield center is the firm's fourth in Indiana, adding more than 3 million square feet of space. Both centers are expected to hire "hundreds" of full time and seasonal workers. Amazon's fulfillment centers are used to pick and pack merchandise for delivery to end customers.
